No riding for a while :(

Postby sundog on Tue Mar 05, 2013 12:50 pm

I had to have knee surgery yesterday so feeling somewhat sorry for myself... :(

Back in September I tore the meniscus in my left knee while doing one-legged squats.
I didn't realise the extent to which i had damaged it, and waited several weeks, probably even months before seeing a doctor.
Eventually yesterday i had the surgery, so my leg will be in a brace and i'll be on crutches for the next 6 weeks, after which i will need physiotherapy to get my leg in some sort of working condition.

So my spring riding came to end after exactly 8km (the distance i rode home after collecting it from winter storage).

Hopefully summer will be more productive from a biking point of view.

Sorry about your knee... :(

4 month of recover is a good time taking account the phisycal rehab, and good time to stay at home, wash the dishes, ironing, watch the afternoon soap opera...

After that you'll be ready to race! :D , and check the movements with the Andermatt trip.

wish the best recovering for you :)

I had my ACL done a few years back Doc said six to nine months before I'd walked, after three months I was on the push bike doing slow low gear five mile rides to get some strength back, as soon as I could bend my knee without it hurting I was back on the BM, I did go for physiotherapy for about a six months.

It’s all good now.

Good luck with the  fashist¬-thereapy
