Thanks to everyone who made our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4rd annual Global Super Sunday rides such a success. We had groups meeting in several countries in the world all on the same day to celebrate the K bikes.

Of course this year, the GSS will also include the S1000RR and the K1600s.

It's time to start thinking about our Global Super Sunday V, World Rally. This year the event will be on Sunday, September 25, 2011. We are a bit flexible on the date, so, if the event would work better in your region on that Saturday, that would be cool with us.

I just wanted to set the date so you guys can start thinking about it, talking about it and planning it during the upcoming riding the season...

:) S

Ill make a few calls. Seems no one here wants to run with it in 2011? Scared of not being able to fill the shoes of the 2010 run

The South African leg of the Global Super Sunday is as follows:

We will meet up at Bavarian Motorcycles at Centurion Gate (Map attached) on the morning of the 25th September 2011 at 7:30 to leave just after 8:00.

BMW has agreed to sponsor some prizes, which will be handed out at BMW Centurion on the morning before we depart. Please remember to fill in the register, to be eligable for a prize.

We will all start off from BMW Centurion and head towards Hartebeespoort dam where we will meet up with some of the northwest crowd (if there are any) and to re-fuel to be able to make the strech towards sun city. There will be a front runner, and a sweeper to ensure no one gets lost.

At Sun City there will be a decent buffet breakfast for R85 which includes free entry to Sun City and free entry (to be obtained at the hotel reception) to the valley of the waves. Remember to bring a bathing suit and a towel, if you see fit.

There will not be a formal group ride back(although most leave in groups after breakfast), so that everyone can enjoy the scenery at Sun City and possibly the Valley of the waves.

Please forward this to any friends who have a BMW superbike or is a BMW enthusiast.

Also note, this is open to any brand of motorcycle, even if its a Global BMW Superbike run.

Please PM me for more details.

Not much info about SA ride - I received email that BMW dealership has cancelled due to GS event. No set up time and point for on-route riders. I was keen but don't want to ride alone.

Ride is most definitely still on. The dealership will unfortunately not open its doors due to the "long weekend", but Bavarian is still the meeting point and Harties the second meeting point. You can ride with me if you want Alex.

Thanks - I have just arrived home - saw GS crowd, very few K bikes on the way to Harties. Please let me know how did it go - photos would be great.

Some Pics of the BMW Superbike Sunday Ride.

We had a nice variety of K's(S's and GT's) and just one S1000RR.

First guys of the early morning arrivals:

Slow Race to win the main prize, a pair of BMW boots:

And what a surprise, the FASTEST bike there for the morning; can actually ride the slowest!

Group pic with BMW Superbike Banner (too small, would need to rethink the size strategy there  ) and the rest of the group joining in.

Arrival at Sun City:

*We did not take too many pictures (sorry), too much enjoyable riding to be done

Next year we will have a venue change and new route. Time to start looking around....

I am open to change the event date to accommodate the SA group better. So just let me know which date range would actually work best for you. Perhaps a time where there aren't competing events. It's important that we pick a weekend, where we aren't competing with other BMW events.

We can go later in Oct, or earlier in September. :)

Cheers, :)
