New HP4 Competition

Postby CoffeeFirst on Sun Dec 23, 2012 1:03 pm

Picked up the new HP4 Competition yesterday. It was a chilly afternoon so only went for a short ride. Plan to put a few more miles in this afternoon. The continued evolution of the engine and the new DDC suspension system are remarkable. Thought I would share some eye candy with everyone. I'll provide a rider report at some point once I dial in the suspension, get past the break in period and spend some time in the mountains. :D Enjoy the pictures ... and a very happy holidays to everyone!

Now that's the ultimate RR. Congrats! Nice holiday present.

You may want to explain to our readers what the "competition" trim is. And how it defers from the base RR HP4. :)

Thanks gents. The "competition" trim basically includes adjustable HP rider foot pegs, folding HP clutch and brake levers, several HP carbon fiber parts including a full length carbon fiber engine spoiler, tinted windscreen and the wheels are blue metallic.

Rode a few hours this afternoon on some twisty mountain roads. The engine is a beautiful thing. Still working on dialing in the suspension.

Thanks. With the exhaust insert removed the engine has a nice mid-tone rumble to it. Very addictive!

If I ever get an RR bike, it would be this one, WOW.... [smilie=35.gif]
One of the absolute few bikes I'd even consider changing my bike for.

A month later... how many miles now, Coffee? Any thoughts? Riding impressions?

I was so tempted to trade mine up, but I thought it's a bit over kill for commuting.

Not that the arse-end on the rr is ugly, but the rear sure looks enhanced with a Competition Werks Tail Tidy. From the side, it's almost not there at all.
